Ten per cent is the usual allowance for cuts, breakages and the odd replacement kept back for the future. Diagonal settings, small rooms with many cuts and large-format planks all push it higher — 15% is safer for a 20×120 cm plank laid in a brick bond.
Colour varies slightly between production runs. Ordering the whole quantity in one go keeps the job on a single dye lot, which matters most on plain and marble-effect tiles.
